The CMF team arrived in the Rockies yesterday and is already hard at work after a first day of sessions and industry discussions.
nextMEDIA participants were welcomed by Mark Greenspan, Executive Producer of nextMEDIA, in an orientation session that reminded everyone of nextMedia’s unique and ever-changing purpose: “We are trying to create a market for digital media, which is hard because it is an industry in flux. To connect IP producers with broadcasters and, more and more, advertisers, is one of the festival’s main missions”.
According to Greenspan, another (new) key player in this landscape is technological companies, as they can connect both with broadcasters and content producers, and help in the development of new content. “The line is more and more blurred between content and technology.”
The CMF team will spend the next few days exploring this ever-changing context and the effects it will have on our industry. We will provide you with both summary reports of key sessions and more in-depth analysis and thoughts, As an introduction, the CMF has prepared a “Did you know?” stats video that provides an overlook of digital trends in Canada.
